Finishers Club is back for 2012!

Posted on

Susan O. had already told herself that she wanted to finish one quilt a month in 2011 to try to finish up some UFOs hanging around her sewing room. She heard about the Finishers Club at Quilter’s Compass and has run with the idea for the entire year.

We all know that life gets in the way sometimes, so Susan hasn’t quite finished one quilt each month, but to date she has completed 7 quilts in 2011, earning  her a total of 18 points through the Finishers Club.

Those points directly translate into a percentage discount and Susan has been able to use those points to save on batting for her projects as well as fabric to treat herself for being so good about going through her stash to complete her projects. She talks about the Finishers Club below.

My eighth finished quilt is at the quilter’s, and my ninth is about 3/4 of the way done.  I do believe I should be able to at least bind two other quilts that aren’t registered with you, which will help me meet my goal of 12 finished, and I’m going to start and finish a baby quilt for my niece this week.

Your Finisher’s Club has helped me be accountable.  Even though I live south of Rockford, Illinois, I am close enough to drive up to use my discount and bask in the glow of approval your club gives me.  AND, I have a photographic record of every quilt.

Thanks so much for the encouragement, and for having such a cool shop!!!

It’s impossible for us to know how many quilters come into the shop and say something along the lines of, “I love this fabric, but I can’t buy anything for new projects until I finish at least 2 of the ones I have started!” or “I’ve really got to work through my stash before I can buy anything new, but I’m obsessed with so-and-so’s new fabric line.”

If you have ever said anything close to what we’ve posted above, then we have a program for you! To help our clients finish those multiple PHDs (Projects Half-Done), UFOs (UnFinished Objects), and PIGS (Projects In Grocery Sacks) we at Quilter’s Compass are proud to announce that the Finishers Club is back for 2012!

In a nut shell, the Finishers Club is a free rewards club that clients of Quilter’s Compass are encouraged to join. It combines a New Year’s Resolution to finish in-progress projects with an incentive program. The general rules are as follows:

  1. Register your project with us (at least ONE CUT must be made in order for it to be considered “in-progress”)
  2. Work on and finish your project (it must be ready for use to be considered “finished”)
  3. Show us your finished project and we issue you points based on the size of your project! Each point is converted to a percentage point off of one purchase at Quilter’s Compass.

For example: You finish that King sized quilt you’ve been working on for your mother-in-law. A King-sized quilt is worth 5 points. That’s 5% off a future purchase at Quilter’s Compass! You can use your discount immediately for batting to finish your next project or fabric for a border for the next quilt in line. Or you can choose to hoard them and let them accumulate all the way up to 15% off one purchase!

We will keep track of your points throughout the year and in December, we will have a Finishers Club party where we all share a photograph or the actual project that we are most proud of, or is our favorite. We will also enjoy snacks and exchanging tales of our adventures throughout the year. We will also have prizes for various accomplishments throughout the year.

Barb can't believe how many UFOs she has to finish (and this isn't even all of them!). Her dog, Sophie, can't believe it, either.

We also encourage members of the FC to utilize our free UFO times taking place every Thursday.

You may begin registering your projects after December 1, but work may not begin or continue work on them until January 1, 2012 — we trust that you won’t cheat 🙂

We look forward to finishing projects with you in the new year! Get in touch for more details on the program.

More details on the program can be found here: The Finishers Club Rules and Regulations
